I don’t know about you, but I always struggle to come up with snacks for my daughter and for me. Sometimes we go ultra-healthy, sometimes we go with cold-cut turkey, sometimes we do snack bar. And more often than not, we’re running out the door and need something portable….
Easy, Mini-Omelette Egg Bites
I’m always looking for new ways to make breakfast, especially eggs. I love the sous vide egg bites from Starbucks, and there’s a local coffee shop with egg muffins. I wanted something I could make at home but something that wasn’t as dry as most egg muffins or egg muffins you find….

Meals in Under 30: Gluten-Free Salmon Cakes
I’m back!
If you haven’t read the blog I posted last week explaining where I’ve been, here’s the short version of the longer story: I had a baby six weeks early with all that entails (a lot) while my husband started his business much earlier than we had anticipated. It equaled a very wonderful and very difficult year.
For my first recipe back, I thought I would share something that I make quite often these days. It’s a great way to get my salmon in (superfood!), it’s gluten-free, it’s delicious, and it’s so fast and easy to make! You may even have seen them on the Flurries of Flour Instagram a few months back. These cakes are full of flavor and the mayonnaise and egg make them wonderfully moist on the inside with a beautiful crust on the outside, not dry or soggy like some cakes you may have had. They are my go-to when I have no time to cook something but we need something delicious and healthy for dinner (or lunch) that the baby can eat and will like, too!

Simmered Rhubarb Compote
I am surprised I haven’t put ithis recipe up already! As my readers know, I’m all about healthy and delicious recipes that are also fast—because I certainly don’t have much time to spend on cooking what I love very often, and I know many others don’t either.
I wait eagerly for the first deep, ruby red stalks of rhubarb to appear in stores (especially because they tend to pop up right around the middle of May, which coincidentally happens to be around my mom’s birthday, and she adores rhubarb anything). I buy as much as I can and start making recipe after recipe before they disappear again….
Simple Teriyaki Chicken
As promised in my last blog for traditional, gluten-free teriyaki sauce, here’s a recipe for teriyaki chicken! Roughly translated, teriyaki means “lacquered on the grill,” and that is the perfect way to describe the result of marrying this sweet, simple sauce, meat, and high heat. Sweet, salty, crispy, flavorful and beautiful. And, as always, it’s quick and simple to make!…
Gluten-Free Traditional Teriyaki Sauce
Thick, rich, sweet and salty—it’s everything you’ll find in a teriyaki sauce. But it may not be the syrupy bottled sauce you’re used to. I’m using a traditional Japanese recipe for the sauce used to baste some type of meat, like chicken, as it is cooked over high heat to create a succulent, flavorful dish. This sauce, whether you use it for basting or as a sauce for a rice bowl, only uses four ingredients and requires very little prep, but produces a rich, deeply flavorful sauce full of both bright and salty notes. It’s really unlike anything you’ve tried from a bottle!…
Do-It-Yourself Stuffed Peppers
Stuffed peppers make such a fantastic weeknight meal. They’re simple and easy to make, they don’t require a lot of prep, and you can make them any way you want! Which is why I’ve created this do-it-yourself guide to stuffed peppers! Start with the basics and add away to your heart’s (and cravings’) content!…

Garlicky Shrimp Scampi
If you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day recipe to make for your someone special, or just to treat yourself (you deserve it!), this is it! Sit down to a big bowl of salty, tender-to-the-bite noodles bathed in a craveable garlicky sauce made slightly sweet with an acidic bite from the wine along with tender shrimp and mellow tomatoes—it’s so delicious and I would absolutely eat this all the time if I could. It’s also very quick and easy to make, so you won’t have to spend hours in the kitchen and can spend more time snuggling with someone (or your blanket, or your snuggly four-legged companion) and enjoying this garlicky shrimp scampi!…
